Some Basic Information About My Site and My Files:

First a note about my files:

All my files are for personal use. I do not charge for any files I create. I share them here for others to use for personal use only. Please do not use them to submit for contests, etc. without getting my permission first. Please give credit where credit is due. I will try to do the same. This means I will try to identify where I got an item or a project if I didn't create it myself and there is an identifable source. Sometimes however I use basic clipart or coloring pages. You may however share these files with others for their personal use (you may not charge for them - you may pass them on for free) or you may point them here to my blog to get the files themselves. If a download file is available, it will appear at the bottom of the post and will be in a different color text.

PLEASE NOTE: I reside in the USA where we use the MM/DD/YYYY date format on computers (and in everything else we do!) If you are outside the USA where they use the DD/MM/YYYY date format on computers, you MAY experience an "Unhandled exception" error when you try to open one of my Cricut DS files. It is an error related to the date format. An easy fix is available at SusanBlueRobot's Blog. Susan has a simple HexEdit program and directions which will allow you to alter the date so you can use the files. Note: This is only an issue if the save date of the file is after the 12th of the month! It is also only an issue with DS files. I have never seen this issue with MTC or SCAL.

Stocking Gift Card Holder

Here is a stocking gift card holder just in time for those last minute Christmas Gift Cards.  Due to its size, you need the Expression and a 12x12 mat and I only used the Christmas Cheer Cartridge.

This idea has been bouncing around in my head for a little while.  Just hadn't found the time to set down and try it.  Stockings can be hard to figure out the proper place to weld I can tell you that!!  LOL  Anyway - I finally got a couple done that I liked. I used one of the stockings from the Christmas Cheer cartridge.  So as to not cause the need for multiple carts, I then decided to use only shapes from that cart to do the "insert" for the gift card.  So the rectangle for the insert along with the welded package and the candy cane also came from Christmas Cheer.  You could recreate this idea with any other stocking from any other cart and just "add" any "gifts" to the top of the insert of any other carts as well.  Thought a doll peeking out of the top of the stocking would be cute for a little girl, maybe a nutcracker for a boy! When I decide who these will be used for, I will add their names to the cuff on the stocking.

I decided instead of making a "pocket" for the gift card to slide down onto that I would just make it so that the card could be attached to the insert with a repositionable glue strip down the backside of the gift card.  You could make a pocket for it or you could add slits for the corners to slide into if you prefer more "attachment".  I took the easy way out!  LOL  Hope that someone finds a use for it.  Please let me see your project if you do use it! Please let me know if you have any questions.

You can download the stocking gift card holder for the Gypsy file or download the stocking gift card holder .cut file  for Design Studio.  Both use the Expression with 12x12 mats.

I did not check the Gypsy file yet.  I just converted it after finishing the design up on Design Studio.  This means that it has all dumped onto 1 page too!  I believe there are at least 4 "pages" in the DS file. (Forgot about that part! - Sorry!  Easy enough to "fix" just copy and paste to different pages.  I will try and do that at some point BUT I haven't yet!!  Sorry!!) If you try the Gypsy file be sure to check the placement and the weldings.  I used hide contour to hide the extra packages and ribbons (because I couldn't delete them) on one page and the tack on the another page.  These will show up in the Gypsy file.  :(  You can just discard the "extras" not needed or use for some other project. I did this so I could "layer" the backside so that the stocking and "gifts" looked the same from either side. See PC why they need to work the same with all the same features!!  Grrrrr..  . . . . . . . . :(
